Electrical mapping is a process of reverse engineering a home’s electrical system to identify which circuits/breakers are controlling the lights, outlets, fridge, hall light, etc. This is helpful when wanting to move around switches to different lights or when installing a fan that needs a switch. If breakers are tripping and a circuit is overloaded you can determine how many outlets are running off of one breaker. Do your lights flicker when you turn on the hair dryer? The outlet running the hair dryer may also be running the lights. Ideally these would be separated so the light flickering wouldn’t happen.
